I believe this Minivan is the most vehicle money can buy. Somehow car enthusiasts hate Minivans, but I don't see it that way. I just sold my Sienna after 17 years / 280k miles of ownership. During that 17 years, it took my 2 Children home from the maternity ward, and adopted 2 dogs and 1 cat. I had Miata, E46 M3, Mini Cooper JCW, Corvette, Porsche Boxter, F150 Raptor, Wrangler, S2000, Prowler, MR2 and Mustang GT go thru my garage, but that Sienna was the "Go-To" vehicle all the time.

Will young kids around 8 - 12 years old be able to operate the H-VAC buttons while they are sat down and the buttons are located on the roof ??? Personally I think that Toyota have lost their way in innovation and making desirable cars (apart from the Supra) even the mighty Highlander is ugly. The new Kia and Genesis brands have made some brilliant cars with beautiful interiors and they look nice too, but they are affordable.

Video @ 5:03 "Not an innovation" - Au contraire Doug. - My 1984 Toyota Minivan had a factory option refrigerator in the center console just in front of the Transmission Shifter (very roomy too). My wife & I would go in a drive-thru, buy Shakes and then immediately put them in the frig. No melted SHAKES ! After a couple of years of ownership, we traded up for a more powerful and better braking Mitsubishi Minivan... WE gave up the Mini-Frig😢

I still don't like how you can't remove the seats, that center console sits way to far back for my preference, don't like how it's a CVT and hybrid engine. Fuel economy great. Maintenance will be more expensive. Guess I'll have to stick with basic models or just buy old vans.

We owned a 2013 Sienna. Most boring vehicle ever; the true definition of an appliance type vehicle. Floaty on the highway, hard plastic galore, and even worse, ours was white. I think ours was a LX with leather and entertainment. The infotainment looks just about like this one did meaning they didn't update it very much over the years. It was just flat out plain and boring. Couldn't stand it after a year and sold it. Yeah, it will sell because Toyota, but I was just not impressed with ours. Also, cleaning those seat tracks from spills/crumbs is a freaking nightmare. Kids loved it though. Luckily, they got big enough to where I didn't need the sliding doors anymore and we traded it in for a 14 Durango RT. Now that was a fun car and so much better made on the interior compared to the plastic bin the Toyota was. Yes it was reliable as heck but that was the only redeeming quality of it. Every other metric the Odyessy and Pacifica beat it hands down IMO.

The middle seats on all Sienna does not look comfy for people with big belly. The angle of the bottom cushions is just too weird. The rails for the middle seats may collect dirt and small toys.I think you can't take it out like the Odyssey or hide it like the Pacifica.

At the end of the day; It's a VAN and the purpose is to drive you and your family safely and economy. 36 MPG is amazing indeed, I am sure that if you drive 60 /65 MPH you can save on gas more perhaps 40 to 45 MPH.... My 2018 CAMRY SE has that mileage...

I wish we had one or at least a miniature one (the closest thing to a miniature Sienna I could find is a Tomica Toyota previa!) ! I grew up sitting in a mk2 sienna during my middle & high school days in the US, crisscrossing the States, it rode awesome, downright bulletproof and really roomy!!

Doug didnt mention the rear seat removal! We have a 2015 Sienna XLE. When we remove the rear seats, the bars that support the seats that stay on the tracks remain. You aren’t able to remove the bar. This isn’t an issue 99% of the time, unless you have to load the van to make 1000mile road trips to bring your kid to college, and have to pack the van as tightly as possible. Does anybody know what I’m talking about/if they fixed it?

Time for Alex on autos. Why does doug emphasize the wrong things like its amazing. Woo a standard hybrid is better than a plug in hybrid because you have to plug it in..? A PHEV has a larger battery which allows you to plug it in and charge it.
