Why dose it have to be the fastest? Its a beast enough for everyday driving and ripping around. Not many people really races all the time. Its built to be a extremely reliable and enjoyable car.

Doug got it all wrong this time. And yes, the GS- F is a bit behind on latest Navigation gismos and software but the engine is to admire. Sounds great and I am sure that will be FAR more reliable than today's BMW Plastic Turbo junk motors. I drive a 2004 GS 300 and after owning 7 BMW's and 1 Mercedes I can honestly say that the Lexus Cars are far better build than ALL it's competitors. Doug should buy one and see the reality for himself!

Dude you exaggerate about the turn signal and the infotainment use, I have a IS200t and is the same, no problems with either feature. We are smart humans and learn how to use things. Stop it! if any of you guys are looking for one of this, don't let that stop you, not a deal breaker, believe me. Once i switched to an IPhone from a Android, at first it was weird, but got used to it, when you use something all the time, it becomes not an issue, is the learning curve. I am shopping for a slight bigger sedan than my IS, I might just get this one a year older, in 2021 or the gs350 F sport. Thanks Doug, good information but don't trash the infotainment and the turn signals when you do another Lexus model, they're all similar, if tha'ts all that bothers you, Lexus is doing great.

And plus in a M5 or C63 or E63 your back will be in a million pieces at the end of a long journey (personal experience as I have owned them) but the F range models (I own a RCF) are just soo much comfortable. People misunderstand the F range cars by Lexus. The F range cars are Fast and a comfortable mile muncher. And I guarantee you, you won't survive a long drive (like 500-600 miles) in a C63 or E63 but you will in a F range Lexus.

I like how people talk crap about this for its performance but for the GTI it doesn't matter lol. The Mazdaspeed 3 had 260hp, IN 2007, in 2022 when the MK8 GTI is out, it will have 240hp

The common problem of all Lexuses is well shown by this video as Doug is tall: when youre 190cm or more, youre gonna drive it with your head put in a gate of a sunroof. Very luxorious and comfortable 😆

That’s funny no smoking signs on the ashtrays. Thanks Doug for helping valuable my 2015 Infiniti Q70L purchase only 47K miles, pretty comparably equipped except for the ?8 but trades the V8 for AWD AND I got the long wheelbase version so about six inches more legroom for rear passengers. Same luxury equipment and possibly more and about 1/4 of the price of a GS-F. To be honest I was looking at a regular GS V6 on My way to the Q70L but couldn’t find a comparably equipped GS for anywhere close to the Q70L adjusted for equipment market and condition. Maybe in a few years the 2020 will be selling cheaper as used. Your not the only one saying that the Toyota/Lexus 8 speed automatic transmissions are weak. The 8 Speed automatic in the Kia Stinger gets good reviews though. Wondering if the KIA model is the ZF which can make European competitors expensive but the ZF works pretty good.

Love this G$-F! One helluva a ride, comfort and sporty. I wouldn't buy new, never been a new car enthusiast but a proper used one. If you have the funds for depreciation than go for it. 🙃

If they had problems also other manufacturers regardless of the country. Tell me how much oil did the Toyota 2.4L from 2009-2012 burn? In my country people are not considering these cars, in Germany most people buy German cars.

@Dragos Pahontu Stop it. You don't have one and if you do, then that reveals you have a personality defect that motivated the posting. These are cars, but you look at them as a reflection of yourself and I suggest you need therapy. And dealer service doesn't prevent the turbos from blowing up and destroying the engine as many have documented- even with dealer services, people were getting pitiful rebates from Audi for a poor design that starves the turbos of oil. And you don't seem to understand why people are now seeing Toyotas and yes, Hondas, as better investments than German cars. German cars are what Italian cars once were- termperamental and unfixable after a few years. At the least with Italian cars, there was enough residual value to say repair and restoration was worth it. German cars, no. They have no value after a few years, particularly after the warranty runs out. They are basically all two-year throwaway cars now. Outside of that, you seriously need to look at your life for being so invested in a car. It's simply a car. A tool, but I am guessing you slick back that hair and cruise for the ladies on Friday nights like it's the 70s. Provided your car starts and doesn't throw a check engine light or the sport differential fails.

@Doctor Morbid my car runs when i start it but i do my maintanance at my local Audi dealer. Maybe if you are buying used and don't care that much for performance but reliability a Honda or Lexus is a good choice.

@Dragos Pahontu Which blows turbos chronically due to those clogging filters which takes the engine out with it, and is horribly unreliable. Let's not get into transmission issues, rear ends, and on and on. Thanks for being a typically fragile male gearhead and ending up proving an opposing point due to it. Not to mention, German cars approach "unrepairable" points within a few years of being sold, as proven by the many channels devoted to trying to save these cars.

7:39 it's all in the exhaust, that goes for any V8. While there are certainly differences in sound regarding valves, under-/overquare engines, engine mapping, etc...you can get a fucking hell of a sound out of any big naturally aspirated V8, doesn't matter which brand. Just found these, easily the best sounding exhausts for Lexus F cars imo: Exhibit I: ilmines.info/camera/fZKBZp5sY6Ocj68/wyd-w.html And those are deep bass true dual no crossover exhausts with mufflers, not that raspy x-pipe straight pipe bullshit.

Doug, this is not a good used car. Yes, it's a reliable Lexus, however, the whole point of owning a Lexus is to keep it, not lease it. A high-mileage used car is a high-mileage used car, meaning there will still be some maintenance. Therefore, you can't buy it used with less than say, 30k miles on it. That means you have to spend alotta money on brakes, toe-rods, and other assorted suspension parts to maintain this freeway hotrod, which will likely have been abused by the previous owners. 😕 Also, a good luxury used car is about $35k, meaning the high-mileage vehicles you showcased are overpriced. Just saying. 😁

Majority of the comments seem opposite to your review Doug, that is a beautiful car hands down, tons of power and that exhaust note is awesome 😎 I would own this now as opposed to the equivalent bmw or Mercedes as i have owned 3 bmw’s as they spent as much time at the mechanics as they did at home ! I have a 16 GS-F that I bought new. I love it and get lots of compliments from strangers. It’s quick enough for me and the interior is beautiful. I bought it mainly because of Toyota’s reliability. I also have a 2002 Sequoia with 116k miles on it and it’s running strong. I traded my 2006 BMW 530i in for my GS-F. Started having issues with that thing.

Errrm, correction at 0:40 onwards ... LEXUS VEHICLES ARE NEVER MADE TO COMPETE AGAINST THE GERMAN COUNTERPARTS. The cars may be of similar specs and physical sizes but competition does not what drives Lexus’s design philosophy. QUALITY, RELIABILITY, GOOD OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE (that’s LEXUS). I have just replaced my 2007 GS450h with a new GS450h. The previous car covered 229,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. THATS SOLID

Got a 2016 GSF with 25k miles for 48.5k . Car is awesome!!!! Just spent $500 for a beat sonic apple car play integration and there, car is perfect.. Also take it to a winding road in manual and it eats corners and I owned a BMW 1M.
